Bob Estep
Traditional artist of flint knapping and tools made of stone
Bob Estep

Bob has always had a fascination and interest in Stone Age cultures worldwide, especially the skills they used to live and thrive.   One of these skills is flint knapping, the art of making tools from stone.  From this fascination he began flint knapping 24 years ago.

Bob has studied with many great teachers in the field of “Primitive Technology” and they all emphasized the traditional methods of knapping, He strives to carry on these ways and to do his best to exhibit them in his work.

Bob says ”I believe that making stone tools keeps me in touch with our Stone Age heritage.  We are all proof that the Stone Age was a success”. Bob lives in Roan Mountain,Tennessee
